The Quortus ECX Enterprise product suite is based on Quortus’ award-winning EdgeCentrix technology, itself already used to provide innovative and differentiated GSM, 3G and 4G edge-of-network solutions. It consists of a complete set of virtualized implementations of 4G LTE and 3G UMTS core entities, and is the first enterprise small cell solution to offer VoLTE integration. It aligns with the Small Cell Forum Release 2 reference architecture.
As a software product, ECX Enterprise may run on on-premise servers or VMs, in the cloud as a hosted enterprise solution, or deeply embedded on small cell hardware.
Leveraging the standard SIP protocol, the Quortus ECX Enterprise software can be integrated with local, or hosted, IP-PBX enterprise voice servers so that mobile phones appear as local extensions off that PBX and thus become an integral part of the enterprise voice network, as well as retaining their macro network identity. Similarly IP data sessions initiated by a handset or other mobile device may be placed directly onto the enterprise LAN, giving the user direct IP access to the enterprise intranet.
