Quortus shortlisted in Outstanding Innovation in Small Cell Business Case Category at Small Cell Industry 2017 Awards
Judges recognize PaaS (Platform as a Service) virtual LTE networks for the enterprise developed with Expeto
Quortus today announces that its pioneering work in virtual LTE networks with partner Expeto has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Innovation in Small Cell Business Case category at the annual Small Cell Industry Awards, organised by Small Cell Forum. The companies’ jointly-developed solution uses network function virtualization (NFV) and software defined networking (SDN) combined with an IT-style cloud deployment model. Offered by Expeto via an innovative platform-as-a-service model, it provides high-availability 4G/LTE communications services with levels of control and security more often associated with private networks.
This marks the sixth year running that Quortus has been named a finalist in the Small Cell Industry Awards.
The judging panel has shortlisted Quortus and Expeto for their PaaS virtual LTE network solution, the first commercially available PaaS solution that gives enterprises and other organizations complete IT-style control of their cellular communications. The solution has already been commercially deployed in conjunction with a major multi-national natural resources concern and its cellular network provider in the Asia-Pacific region, using small cells to serve rural and remote locations with advanced communications services. Its deployment demonstrates that similar small cell-based solutions can be applied across the enterprise environment, as well as in rural and remote locations.
