We’re delighted to announce that Quortus has been shortlisted in the Best NFV/SDN Solution category of the LTE & 5G World Awards 2016 for our EdgeCentrix cellular core network solutions (EPCs). We’re proud to have been recognized alongside other shortlisted companies including AT&T, ECI Telecom, Huawei, Radisys and Telefónica.
The judges chose to shortlist our ECX solutions for a range of unique features, including:
Quortus’ carrier-grade, scalable, software-based core network products enable unparalleled flexibility in the deployment of intelligence anywhere in the network – enabling new services and business models.
Delivering intelligence at the network edge – a particular competence for Quortus – is now recognized as one of the most important trends within the mobile ecosystem. The move to edge-based intelligence has taken on momentum with the emergence of mobile edge computing, or MEC, an approach to building mobile networks that offers application developers and content providers cloud-computing capabilities and an IT service environment at the edge of the mobile network.
We view MEC as one of the most significant current developments in wireless networks, with immense promise to transform the economics of dense data networks and to enable new services and revenue streams driven by a broad ecosystem. As well as an accelerated program bringing MEC technologies to market, Quortus is active in MEC standards definition through its involvement in ETSI’s MEC Industry Specification Group (ISG).
Winners in the LTE & 5G World Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony during the 5G World event in London on June 29th.
